Westsyde

"Westsyde is the best side" as locals who live there like to say. This neighbourhood with large lots and many homes that have views of the river has plenty to like about it. Stretching for a number of kilometers along the North Thompson River Westsyde is one of Kamloops largest neighbourhoods. 

Westsyde is mostly made up of single family homes and townhouse units but there are also some duplex, half duplex, and condo units within the neighbourhood. The area is served by multiple schools including Westsyde Secondary School.

Westsyde has its own shopping centre with a grocery store, liquor store, gas station, hardware store and more. This is located at the North end of Westsyde so those homes in this part of the neighbourhood are close to services. Westsyde has a number of other businesses/services within it including pubs, restaurants, dental office, and the Westsyde Pool and Fitness Centre. 

At the North end of the neighbourhood is The Dunes at Kamloops Golf Course which features a restaurant and banquet room as well as a number of homes and a new condo building on the golf course. 

The Rivers Trail network spans a considerable distance along the river in Westsyde and connects to Westmount and North Kamloops. It is popular with joggers, dog walkers, and bikers. Being in the valley bottom, Westsyde benefits from warmer weather like other Kamloops neighbourhoods of a similar elevation but does tend to see greater snowfall accumulation than areas like Valleyview or Brocklehurst.
